Dornan are currently recruiting for an Electrician to join the maintenance team with one of our pharmaceutical clients in West Dublin.

Dornan are a leading Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation contractor with projects in Ireland, Mainland Europe, the Nordics and the UK. Dornan are involved in projects across many sectors such as Pharmaceutical, Data Centre, Healthcare, Education, Commercial, and Power Generation.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience and exposure to key functions such as Black Utilities, Manufacturing, LOC, EHS, Training and Quality teams.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Field execution of baseline process  testing, gathering information on the current E-Stop and Isolator performance
  • Supporting development of a PSM asset prioritisation tool
  • Defining suitable testing standard for e-stops and isolators on site (Cause and Effect) by identifying the testing type, and ensuring that the device is tested and is functioning as per design intent
  • Working with equipment owners, subject matter experts (SMEs) , and Engineering Reliability managers to understand most effective means of testing each device
  • Develop any required test scripts/Wis for execution of PSM checks
  • Supporting naming conventions, JP/PM strategies
  • Identifying critical spare parts required for stock as well as for JPs
  • Identifying where vendor support may be better placed to carry out PSM testing
  • Providing technical input from field testing and test scripts into the Programme lead
  • Support development of JP/PMs in line with planners and Area owners/SMEs

Qualifications Required:

  • Electrical Trade Qualification required

Experience Required:

  • Experience in testing and maintenance of functional safety (emergency shutdowns, Safety circuitry, hardwire controls, safety instrumented systems etc.) with ability to read electrical drawings and P&ID’s
  • At least 3 years of experience working in pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities in Reliability maintenance or engineering teams.
  • Experience of Maintenance management and Reliability programs.
  • Knowledge of engineering reliability maintenance best practices and experience of establishing or optimising programs, knowledge of process safety and functional safety equipment would be an advantage.
  • Ability to work in a fast-moving and dynamic environment and meet deadlines.
  • Good delegation, organising and planning skills.
  • Proven success working well in a team environment with flexibility to react to changing business needs.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely with minimum direct supervision.
