Dornan is recruiting for a Group Health and Wellbeing Advisor. We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented professional who has experience in promoting wellbeing in the company and conducting internal research projects. This position is offered as a 12 month fixed term contract.

 

You will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining the Wellbeing Strategy for the Company. Acting as wellbeing support to Dornan Group, in order to motivate, educate and engage employees with the Company’s wellbeing programmes and initiatives to help build a sustainable workforce for the future. To work with the business to support our employee’s in all aspects of wellbeing and to encourage and support Dornan’s employees to improve their own health and wellbeing and ensure inclusivity across the business.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

 

Setting the wellbeing standard

  • Taking a holistic approach to wellbeing, developing and implementing the Wellbeing strategy for the Company
  • Identifying and creating opportunities to improve the Company’s wellbeing strategy to best support our employees
  • Ensuring we are the market leader within this space by using data insights to identify improvement ideas, health impacts and what the future of wellbeing looks like
  • Setting the content for the annual Dornan Wellbeing Calendar and coordinating all events for same
  • Preparing material for wellbeing tool box talks and presentations
  • Assist in driving and improving employee performance through effective wellbeing programmes

Internal and external communication

  • Responsible for all internal and external communication regarding wellbeing, and presenting to client subcontractors and external companies to share best practice

Wellbeing community

  • Working with the EHS  and HR teams to rollout wellbeing initiatives across the Company
  • Connecting with key stakeholders throughout the business to ensure wellbeing programmes and initiatives are rolled out successfully
  • Leading the wellbeing champion’s community within the business to inspire the passionate delivery of wellbeing programmes for our workforce
  • Encouraging wellbeing champions to lead on wellbeing initiatives outside of their specific sites
  • Main contact for the wellbeing champions and MHFA within the company, holding quarterly workshops with this group to receive feedback, look at trends occurring, and recognise wellbeing champions who are going above and beyond

Wellbeing training

  • Coordinate training to ensuring anyone managing or supervising a team has the skills and knowledge required to speak to their team about health and wellbeing matters
  • Monitor the Mental Health First Aiders ratio in our offices and project locations
  • Ensure only people who have met the criteria and are performing well in their current roles are selected for MHFA or other wellbeing training

Supporting our employees

  • In addition to our EAP service researching into professional support available to employees in their location when required
  • Providing support and advice to managers and EHS advisors and HR BPs when professional advice and support is required by employees
  • Ensuring that all employees are aware about the Company’s wellbeing strategy from when they start in the company and throughout their employee lifecycle
  • Improving wellbeing for project teams from project start up stage, by providing information about what is in the area e.g.  healthy food options and sporting activities

Supporting our clients and subcontractors

  • Presenting the Company’s wellbeing strategy to our clients and subcontractors at various stages of the project lifecycle, from tender to project completion
  • Sharing our wellbeing strategy with our clients and subcontractors to promote best practice
  • Collaborating with our clients and subcontractors on wellbeing initiatives
  • Building relationships with the Health and Wellbeing representatives of our clients and subcontractors
  • Encouraging our clients and subcontractors to put the same level of health and wellbeing support in place for their employees

Monitoring progress

  • Main contact for our EAP provider, analyzing usage reports, creating action plans based on trends and reporting on this to senior management, the UK HR BP and UK EHS Manager
  • Conducting, analysing, and coordinating the annual wellbeing survey, sharing high level findings with employees and action planning on a company level and at team level where improvements are required
  • Running employee feedback sessions to see where we could improve our wellbeing programmes and initiatives
  • Reviewing and implementing recommendations received to our wellbeing strategy on improvements suggested to our wellbeing programmes and initiatives
  • Liaising with teams to find out about wellbeing initiatives introduced by individuals/teams

*Travel will be required as part of this role to visit offices and project sites across the Dornan Group

 

Experience/ essential

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • MSc in Workplace Health and Wellbeing / Organisational Psychology or equivalent
  • Degree level education desirable
  • NEBOSH diploma
  • L&D experience or education

  • Excellent communications skills to be able to build networks at all levels of the business
  • Experience of influencing various stakeholders and managing multiple projects
  • Working with a high degree of autonomy to drive the wellbeing strategy and ensure results
  • Good IT skills - particularly Word, Powerpoint and Excel
  • Project management skills
  • Excellent organisation skills and time management skills
  • An exceptional eye for detail
