Manage and sequence daily activities for a 20+ team of field test operatives, field supervisors and office admin staff.
Ensure that daily test operative productivity targets are met.
Ensure test and inspection activities are completed in-line with required completion dates.
Ensure tests and inspections performed as per the requirements of project specifications, drawings, procedures, documents, inspection and test plans.
Ensure tests and inspections performed in accordance with relevant IEC, EN and Belgium standards, including, but not limited to HD 60364 and RGIE Rÿglement général sur les installations électriques.
Sourcing and vetting personnel who have the necessary experience, competency, and training to execute the required tests and inspections. Interview potential test operatives and review training records.
Coordination and liaising will all project contractors, system owners and individuals to obtain test witnessing, permits, access, and energisation of circuits, necessary to execute tests and inspections.
Ensure that test equipment is calibrated in accordance with project specifications and company policy. Ensure sufficient test equipment is available for test operatives.
Ensure supply of necessary PPE and accessories, including, but not limited to arc flash protective clothing, electrical insulating mats and insulating gloves.
Ensure supply of access equipment including, mobile elevated work platforms MEWP, podium ladders, etc.
Produce status reports, indicating testing completion status for various areas and systems as deemed necessary.
Production and supply of test packs. Test packs to contain all necessary information for execution of tests and inspections i.e. drawings, termination details, cable schedules, torque settings, pass/fail criteria, etc.
Review all completed test records to ensure test measurements comply with relevant standards and regulations.
Ensure timely handover of all test records to project document control team.
Maintain and operate the Dornan electronic system known as Prism, which is used for monitoring, recording, and processing test activities. Strong IT skills required.
Ensure correct and efficient inspection of the install to ensure free from issues as per the below non-exhaustive list of items:
Secure conductor connections and correct lug sizes used where applicable.
Glands secure and suitable for area classification.
Cable free from visual damage.
Earth tags secure, tested and bonded to main earth where applicable.
Sealing washer installed where applicable.
Cable labels correct.
Circuit breaker / Fuse rating and type as per current design documentation.
Earth leakage protection device rating and type as per current design documentation.
Ensure correct and efficient testing of all circuits/equipment, including:
continuity checks
resistance measurements
insulation resistance measurements
polarity checks
earth loop impedance measurements
prospective short circuit current measurements
prospective earth fault current measurements
differential-residual current protection device trip test checks and measurements
phase sequence measurements
voltage measurements
torquing of connections
